In the age of flexible working hours, remote jobs, and freelancing, the popularity of coworking spaces around the world has skyrocketed. The trend is just as present in the capital of Hungary. We set out to explore what this city has to offer in terms of coworking hubs to see why it is considered one of the best places to live in Eastern Europe.
Here are the nine spots we singled out as the best in Budapest and also one that didn’t quite live up to our expectations:
- Our top choice—Impact Hub Budapest
- The one that left us underwhelmed—UP Center
- KAPTÁR coworking
- Collabor8district
- The Other WorkSpace
- Loffice
- KUBIK
- Eco-Office
- Mosaik
- Muse

ToggleImpact Hub Budapest—Our Top Choice
Source: Impact Hub Budapest
What we love about Impact Hub is that it has offices all around the world. This is an exceptionally important detail for all digital nomads reading this article. With Impact Hub’s Global Passport, you are welcome in any of their offices worldwide!
As far as their Budapest location is concerned, it is not unlike the other spaces they’ve got set up around the globe. It is located in the city centre, in an area of over 600 square meters. That speaks of the sheer range of options that this spot provides to its members.
In Impact Hub Budapest, you will have access to the following:
- Spacious shared coworking areas
- Chill-out lounge room
- Community bistro
- Self-service kitchen (free wine alert!)
- Workshop rooms
- Meeting rooms
- A variety of events
- Room for podcasting, Skype, and telephone calls
- On-site showers
The rooms are equipped with the latest tech, Herman Miller ergonomic chairs, air conditioning, and optic-fiber Wi-Fi.

UP Center—Our Least Favorite Coworking Space
Source: UPCenter
Up Center is known for being a digital academy, but it also has a coworking space. As far as the academy is concerned, it works on a pay-as-much-as-you-want basis, as there are no fixed prices. For the coworking space, they have hot and dedicated desk packages, but they are one-off and monthly ones that don’t offer much flexibility.
This place has many positive reviews and is lauded for the sense of togetherness and community it nurtures. It also seems to be great for co-studying.
What we didn’t like is that, apart from those benefits, it doesn’t have much more to show for itself, especially when compared to other coworking spaces in Budapest. There are no conference rooms on offer nor private offices. The place is not that big, and not all of the furniture is ergonomic.
The official website and the Facebook page don’t have English language versions, so it’s practically impossible for international audiences and digital nomads to get familiar with what the place has to offer.
It strikes us that this space is fantastic for local youth and students, while it may be the wrong choice for foreigners and more serious entrepreneurs.

KAPTÁR Coworking
Source: KAPTÁR coworking
KAPTÁR Coworking is situated in the heart of Budapest, so anyone wanting to visit this place shouldn’t have trouble finding it. In case you need to rush to the bank, grab a bite to eat, and get right back to work, you won’t have to waste a lot of time on those activities before you’re back in the office.
The interior is showered with lots of natural light, making it a perfect setting for work. There is an on-site self-service cafe in case you need a caffeine kick.
As for the seating arrangements, you can choose where you want to set up shop— by the window, on a comfy sofa or an armchair, or at a counter table. There are also standing desk options and a Skype room in case you need to make a video call in private.
This coworking space is ideal for digital nomads, freelancers, and other solopreneurs working in Budapest, as it has hot and dedicated desk plans. It also offers rooms for meetings and events, so it may be a good choice for teams, too.

Collabor8district
Source: Collabor8district
The interior of this impressive coworking space in the midst of Budapest’s 8th district is bright, vibrant, and uplifting. The huge windows let in natural sunshine, and the cheerful red chairs add to its energy.
Collabor8 offers a good choice of packages to suit a variety of needs, from hot and dedicated desks to private offices. You can work on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis, depending on your necessities.
Another great thing about this hub is that it has excellent availability. It has 11 rooms and an outdoor terrace, plus 24-hour member access, so you can come and go as you please.
What is particularly suitable for digital nomads who come here is that the staff speak several languages. Collabor8 maintains a Hungarian, English, and Spanish-speaking environment.

The Other WorkSpace
Source: The Other WorkSpace
The Other WorkSpace, as its name suggests, was set up with the aim of providing a different coworking spot from what dominates the market. The founders aimed to open a quiet place that doesn’t have inflated membership prices and is not overly crowded.
We’d say they have partially succeeded. The place is not too busy, there are spacious desks and comfortable chairs, and the offices are open 24/7. However, the prices are not low enough to write home about. Another disadvantage, in our view, is the somewhat dull and uninspiring white backdrop.
Overall, this place is a bit more affordable than others, so it’s suitable for those on a budget who don’t have high demands and expectations of coworking amenities but just need a comfy workstation.

Loffice
Source: Loffice Coworking
Loffice is a coworking space that is quickly expanding. It is available in two countries (Hungary and Austria) and currently has five offices. It’s safe to say that they have the coworking space game down. Whatever you need, you’ll find here, be it shared or fixed desks, private offices, meeting rooms, or event spaces.
The interior design has been carefully executed, and a lot of thought has gone into making the place feel hip, youthful, and modern. We certainly were impressed by all that. We were also left wondering—how comfortable are all these chairs and quirky-looking workstations for prolonged work?
Our demands for ergonomic chairs weren’t met here, but we did like the overall vibe of the place. If you need a spot to work from for shorter periods, this place will work for you.

KUBIK

KUBIK Coworking is one of our favourite remote working spots in Budapest. The place extends to over 400 square meters and is situated in a prestigious business district. Apart from its central location, we were also fascinated by the array of options it offers.
This all-encompassing coworking hub has:
- Open-space shared workstations
- Private offices for up to four people
- Meeting rooms for up to 16 persons
- Virtual office service
- 100 square meters of rentable event space
It is safe to say that you will find a plan that works for you in this coworking hub. If you are not sure if this type of place would be suitable for you, make sure to use their trial day offer free of charge and test them out.

Eco-Office
Source: Ecooffice
Eco-Office was envisioned as a green space that will get your creative juices flowing. It has a lot of greenery around the place to ensure a relaxed, zen-like atmosphere. The design and the services available at this coworking spot make it a perfect combo of a shared office and a chill-out coffee shop.
The idea behind Eco-Office was to provide a flexible remote working option for individuals and groups who thrive when surrounded by like-minded coworkers.
Although we liked the look and feel of the place, we didn’t appreciate its misleading name. With the rise of eco-conscious tourists and nomads, one might think this place is self-sustainable or eco-friendly in any other way. What we found is lots of plants, wooden furniture, and unlimited filtered water. Suffice it to say we were underwhelmed.

Mosaik
Source: Mosaic Startup Hub
Although Mosaic has an excellent coworking space that has all the standard amenities that similar spots offer as well, it stands out from the crowd for being a learning centre, too.
Mosaic Academy offers support for people looking for a career change. There are various courses to take up here to take your skills to the next level. Tech workshops are among the most popular.
Another interesting offer in Mosaic is that every week they organize an event called CloudTuesdays. You get an exclusive chance to meet and learn from Microsoft software engineers in person. The seats are limited, so you would need to apply in advance. You don’t have to be a coworking space member to attend.

Muse
Source: Muse Közösségi Iroda
Muse may well be the most beautiful coworking space we’ve ever seen! The stylish cast-iron railing that envelopes the interior, the fashionable, contemporary furniture, the abundance of wooden surfaces, and plenty of natural light make this place a must-see for any Budapest resident or visitor.
Regardless, Muse is more than just a pretty interior. It is conveniently located in downtown Budapest, near all the public transport hotspots and the main tourist attractions.
Among its amenities, you will have fast internet, bag storage, gallery seats, on-site showers, a cafe, a terrace, and a mini-golf course at your disposal. On top of all that, you are welcome to bring your pup to work, too!
