Our 7 Best Coworking Space in Santiago for Digital Nomads (2024)

Chile and its capital, Santiago, in particular, have become home to freelancers from all corners of the world and domestic startup companies of one alike. Santiago is one of the best places to live in Chile, which makes it a popular destination. The number of coworking spaces has significantly risen in recent years to accommodate the growing needs of that new wave of professionals who need a place to base their businesses.

Many coworking spaces in Santiago are oriented toward giving companies a place to host seminars and give lectures. We strived to find some that offer more than just that and are able to meet the needs of various types of workers, from a one-person startup to a huge team, from local professionals to digital nomads on the go.

What Makes a Good Coworking Space?

Coworkign-Space

In our book, a functional coworking space should have impeccable Wi-Fi connectivity, plenty of power outlets, excellent ergonomics, and affordability. When we choose a place to work from, it becomes a second home, so it needs to feel like one too.

It should offer an assortment of beverages and snacks (good coffee is mandatory!) and a place for our belongings, like a personal locker. It should also have comfortable furniture in every space, from the chairs at workstations to the kitchen area and the chill-out lounge.

Aesthetics play a crucial role in keeping workers engaged and productive, so a drab-looking place that is also too loud to work at will not be on our list of recommendations.

Other people that come to the coworking place can help you grow and open up a whole new world of ideas to you, so a spot with excellent networking opportunities that have shared rooms and hosts regular events is a must.

Many workers become remote professionals due to their life circumstances, such as having kids or due to physical disabilities. Others are searching for freedom and flexibility in the workplace. A good coworking space should meet those needs and allow workers to connect with people from similar niches. Here is which coworking places stood out to us in Santiago, Chile:

  1. Outsite in Parque Forestal
  2. Coworking Stations in Ciudad Empresarial
  3. Spaces Apoquindo in Las Condes
  4. Urban Station in Salvador
  5. Colaboro in Vitacura
  6. Cango Cowork in Providencia
  7. WeWork in Las Condes

Our Top Choice for a Coworking Space in Santiago Is Outsite

Outsite Santiago is the perfect coworking, coliving, and community-building space for remote workers in Santiago.

Outsite has locations all across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

The Santiago outpost is located next to the Parque Forestal in the center of Santiago and is within walking distance from the metro. The Arturo Merino Benitez Airport is only 12 miles【19 km】 away.

Outsite Santiago offers coliving space and dedicated workspaces. The living and dining areas are open-plan, perfect for meeting new people, socializing, and connecting with potential business partners. The common areas include fully furnished kitchens, cozy living rooms, and shaded outdoor areas.

The design features modern furniture, hand-picked art, books at every step, and a lot of greenery in every corner. If you want to make the most of your downtime, make use of the Smart TV and the sound systems in the common living room area. There is also 24-hour surveillance of the premises.

The dedicated workspace is conveniently situated right down the hall. It has ergonomic chairs, desks of adjustable height, and stable Wi-Fi. You are also free to help yourself with unlimited office stationery.

The only con that we were able to notice is the parking. There is none on-site. The only option is streetside parking in front of the building, which is billable by the minute and can get quite pricey.

Our Least Favorite Place for Coworking in Santiago Is the Coworking Stations in Ciudad Empresarial

Coworking Stations in Ciudad Empresarial are located in the Huechuraba district in the broader Santiago area.

That location was specially designed for office buildings, but it is also a great place to live. Over a thousand different companies have offices there. The neighborhood is also great for a tranquil, safe family life away from Santiago’s hustle and bustle.

The coworking spaces in Ciudad Empresarial were envisioned as modern, technology-oriented coworking hubs. The reality is that the areas contain only rudimentary furniture that is not nearly comfortable enough for working long hours.

There is also limited equipment. Three training rooms holding up to ten people are available, but there is only one projector among them. A scanner, photocopier, and printer are there, as well as a Skype room.

Regarding other amenities, there is a cheap-looking kitchen that only offers free water. Free parking is available, but getting there in the first place may take a while as it is quite far away, and the traffic is prone to congestion during peak periods. There is no metro going there.

Unless you already live in Ciudad Empresarial and don’t want to waste time driving up to the city for a coworking space, we suggest you pass this one out, as there are better alternatives to it.

Spaces Apoquindo in Las Condes

Colaboro

Source: Spaces Apoquindo

Spaces Apoquindo coworking and private office space is located in the heart of Santiago’s financial district of Las Condes, lovingly dubbed Sanhattan by the local population. The office itself is situated on the 17th floor, so you are sure to take in some spectacular views while you work.

Spaces Apoquindo is surrounded by a selection of restaurants, bars, cafes, and places to visit, such as the Los Leones Golf Club, Military School Museum, and Subcentro Shopping Centre.

This coworking spot is only a short walk from the metro station, and it is easy to find, even for foreigners. Not only is it in a popular neighborhood that is well-connected to other parts of town via public transport, but it is in a hard-to-miss skyscraper.

Apart from its prime location, this coworking spot boasts:

  • Superfast Wi-Fi
  • Four meeting rooms
  • 14 dedicated desks
  • CCTV security
  • On-site parking space
  • Personal cupboards and lockers
  • Private office plans for 2, 4, 6, or 10 people

What We Don’t Like About This Coworking Space

Spaces Apoquindo has several downsides. Although it promises regular networking events for its members, there are none listed in its upcoming events section. They also seem to be more focused on the concept of office leasing instead of coworking. It seems to cater more to businesses and larger teams rather than individuals.

The hot desk spaces are no bigger than cubicles, with little room to work with and to put your stuff. Some online reviewers also complain about bad customer service, so don’t be surprised if it isn’t up to par.

Urban Station in Salvador

Urban-Station-Salvadar

Urban Station claims to be the first global network for remote workers. Currently, it has offices in 12 branches in five countries — Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, and Egypt. Membership allows you to access all those coworking spaces. There are four Urban Station locations in Santiago.

Tech companies and universities surround the one located in the district of Salvador. It is set up in the home of Nemesio Artunes, which grants it its unique artistic vibe.

Some of the perks of this coworking space are meeting rooms that you can rent by the hour and an auditorium that holds 40–70 people. A host of equipment is also available for free, such as overhead projectors, headphones, LCD devices, fax, photocopier, scanner, and cell phone chargers.

What we particularly loved about this place is that it is pet-friendly. Feel free to bring your dog or cat to work with you. Another fantastic thing is that there are bicycles that you can take for a spin in case you need to get away from your desk for a while.

What We Found Was the Downside to This Coworking Spot

A significant flaw of Urban Station, Salvador, is that its waiting room and kitchen are rather small and cannot hold all event attendees.

Many are stuck waiting outside or missing out on a coffee or other refreshments. The inattentive and unpleasant receptionist at this Urban Station locale is also a cause of frequent complaints.

Cango Cowork in Providencia

Cango-Workstation

Source: LinkedIn

Cango Cowork and Play is located in the Santiago district of Providencia, which is a commercial and gastronomical center of the city. It is a relative newcomer to the Santiago coworking space market, and what we instantly loved about it is that it caters to a specific clientele that may struggle to find a coworking spot to suit their particular needs.

Cango was set up with the aim of providing functional coworking space to parents who are not able to work full-time due to their parental obligations. Cango reconciles the two worlds by offering you a place you can work from and bring your children with you too. Nannies take care of the kids in a specially designed daycare center located on the premises.

The coworking and kindergarten areas are separate, so there is no noise disruption. Cameras monitor every room, and workers can watch over their children on their cell phones or personal computers to make sure everything is in order. Parents may choose to take breaks whenever they want and spend them playing with their children or feeding them.

You can choose the service that you need in Cango. You only pay for what you use. One day you may want to work from a hot desk, while on another, you would need a private office. It is appropriate for workers without kids, too, as the children’s area is billable by the hour and optional.
