How to find a villa to rent in Canggu
Many people ask me how difficult it is to find a villa to rent in Canggu, be it for a week to a month. Canggu is full of expats and digital nomads that call this part of Bali home for a few months a year, and all of us are on the search for a perfect place to live.
If you want to stay long term then I recommend looking up and posting in the following Facebook groups:
In these groups you can either find a whole villa to rent, for as little time as a few nights and for as long as 2 years. The longer you can commit, the lower the price per month works out.
How much does it cost to rent in Canggu
How much you pay really depends on where you live, if it’s shared accommodation, and where in Canggu you want to be located. In general a room in a villa starts at about 7 million a month, with many going up as far as 11 million.
I currently pay 10 million a month (about 650 euro) for a room in a nice villa with a swimming pool and decent kitchen, sharing the villa with one other girl.
If you want to rent an entire villa, then prices in Canggu start at about 15 – 20 million, and go up to 30 or 40 million if there are 3 or 4 bedrooms. If you go north of Raya Canggu or west towards Tanah Lot, you can probably rent an entire villa for about 10 million.
You can find many great villas or rooms in villas on Airbnb, but remember if you arrive and visit the villa and contact them direct, you will pay MUCH LESS.

Best Budget Canggu Bali Villas
One of the things that makes Bali such a great summer vacation spot is that it’s light on the wallet. You can get so much out of a shoestring budget! Check out these free things to do in Bali, and find the perfect budget villa for you.
Sparkling Gem
If you’re after great value for money and a low price, Sparkling Gem is exquisite. The villa, which you’ll get all to yourselves, is spacious and airy. It has its own private pool, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a charming tropical garden.
The villa fits two to three people. It’s a short walk from the area’s best surf beaches, but far enough to feel secluded and special.
For such a low price, there’s so much provided! The villa is cleaned daily, and staff are available to help you figure out the details of your stay in Canggu.
Villa Sunny
This spacious villa is ideal for families and small friend groups. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, as well as a kitchen, and a verandah. You’ll also be able to take dips in the plunge pool if you prefer to lounge around at the villa between exploring Bali.
Speaking of exploring – hire a scooter or a car with the staff, and take a trip around the island. The beach is also within walking distance, with various beach clubs and bars right there. It’s a little separated from the party hub of Canggu. But, close enough to casually stroll home at 3 am after a night on the beach.
Villa Airin
Slightly pricier, but uniquely located among the rice fields, you’ll never want to leave Villa Airin. It’s the perfect place for a secluded Balinese holiday, remote and beautifully positioned near to various attractions and activities.
With two bedrooms and plenty of space, this villa is also ideal for small families. The decor is minimalist, combining traditional Bali designs with modern architecture.
The verandah – which is also the kitchen and dining room – is so lovely, you’ll want to have all your meals right there. And can you picture anything more perfect than popping into the pool, and then walking right over to a salad at the shaded dining area? It’s a perfect retreat.
Seawind on the bay
One of our favorite Canggu beach villas, Seawind is beautiful. There are such lovely personal touches – like tropical plants growing everywhere, and a naturally cleaned pool.
The villa is rented by the room, so you can either rent a bedroom here or book out the full 3-bedroom villa for a larger group. It has an open outdoor kitchen where you can make your meals right by the pool.
It’s also just a 2-minute walk from the beach, making it a great option for surfers and beach-goers.
Berawa Villa
If you’re comfortable with a room in a larger villa, this is an incredible villa resort with great budget rooms. The best thing about it is that the pool is so large, it practically laps at all the rooms. There are thatched-roof seating areas, and jungle just beyond the walls.
This is a great place to meet other people in the large lounge areas, or relax on your own and spend plenty of time in the sun.
There’s a kitchen where you can cook and a laundry room. It’s comfort and luxury at a fantastic price!
Best Luxury Villas in Canggu
If you’re looking for something a little more suited to a luxury honeymoon, these Canggu villas are a dream come true.
Komea Villa
Nestled in the rice fields of Batubelig near Canggu, Komea Villa is incredible. It’s a resort where you can get your own secluded one- or two-bedroom villa. With a large private pool and lush garden.
There are few places in the world where you can enjoy a luxurious bath in an open-air bathroom. You can also book a massage, as well as bicycles or horse-riding. The rooms themselves are spacious and beautifully decorated.
Komea combines secluded privacy and luxurious well-catered amenities and services perfectly. It’s the ideal romantic getaway, sure to leave you with some amazing memories.
ZIN Canggu Bali
More of a villa-resort, ZIN Canggu is ideal for people who like to meet others while on holiday. It offers first-class luxury, with gorgeous rooms.
The floor-to-ceiling windows and stylish cement walls make the room cool and bright. A lovely daily breakfast is available, and the resort has its own in-house restaurant and bar.
With a number of pools right outside the rooms, and a wellness center, you’ll be able to spend your entire holiday winding down and being pampered.
Own Villa Bali
For a more unique and traditional-style stay in Bali, you can’t beat Own Villa. The high thatched-roof villas are built in a traditional Indonesian style, with open-concept rooms. Basically, you’ll be surrounded on all sides by nature without any boundaries!
Relax in your villa with in-room massages and spa services. You can even have your very own chef cook for you in your own villa. It’s top luxury, with incredibly beautiful rooms and a large infinity pool.
The villa is slightly outside of Canggu, secluded in a forested area of Bali. You’ll also a library where you can find some perfect reading material. And don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy horse riding and a game on the tennis court.
Villa Sally
Villa Sally is a luxury villa complex where you can rent a one to four-bedroom villa for up to eight people. The villas are stunning and open-plan, with private pools and a gorgeous view over the rice paddies.
The secluded villas are ideal for couples and large groups. The kitchen is fully equipped, and car and bike hire are available.
The villas are just a short walk from a fantastic golf course and, of course, the beach.
Theanna Eco Villa and Spa
If the idea of staying right at a spa in your own villa appeals to you, Theanna is like a dream. The villas are airy with striking decor. They come with private pools right outside the door.
But our favorite thing about this place is that it’s totally self-contained, with an in-house restaurant, bar, mini-market, and laundry room. You could spend a week being pampered and relieving all the stress of your day-to-day life, without ever having to leave.
Unless, of course, you want to go on a boat trip and do some snorkeling, or take to the golf course – all of which can be arranged for you, with no hassle.
Umah CinCin
Umah CinCin is a more modern option for those looking for comfort and amenities. Each villa has a pool and a garden, or a terrace with views over the scenic rice paddy.
With a dining room and kitchenette, the villas are spacious with modern decor. You can make use of the fitness center, massage room, and the hot tub, for ultimate relaxation.
These are all only one-room villas, so it’s ideal for couples and solo travelers, but not families.
