12 Awesome Party Hostels in Bangkok – Plus POOL PARTIES!

Bangkok is a vibrant, colourful and strangely awesome city to visit. Besides a great selection of the best party hostels in Bangkok, it has on offer everything from great and cheap food, interesting tourist sites, fun activities and most importantly for the young – and young at heart – a vibrant and exciting nightlife. It also acts as a stopover destination for backpackers flying into the city with the goal of making their way to one of Thailand’s many breathtaking islands or to other exciting neighbouring countries.

Whatever your reason for visiting Bangkok, make the best of it by staying at a hostel where you can meet other likeminded travellers and head out and party with them. Many party hostels are located on or near the main backpacker road – Khao San Road – but there are numerous other party areas in the city – where you’ll tend to be mingling with a higher proportion of expats than tourists. Here we are giving you eleven of our favourites, we’re sure there’s something for everybody in this list. If you’re planning to go to Koh Phangan next – these are the party hostels to check out.

If you’re unsure what to do while in town, this  fun itinerary should help, although you’ll easily make friends in these hostels and find plenty to keep you occupied.

Pro Tip: If you’re planning to travel around Thailand for a few weeks, I can’t emphasise enough how important it is to have decent travel insurance – as you never know what could go wrong and accidents happen ALL the time in Thailand. Just read my Koh Tao horror story. I always use World Nomads, as they’re known as the best insurer for backpackers and long term travellers.

10. The Oasis Hostel Bangkok, Khao San

We love the chill atmosphere at The Oasis Hostel. The staff are absolutely amazing and aim to keep guests truly entertained with many weekly events being organized, such as barbecues and quiz nights. If you don’t trust us on how great this place is, then Google’s your friend. Look it up and you’ll see it’s highly rated according to numerous reputable booking sites. 9. NapPark Hostel Bangkok, Khao San

This newly renovated hostel located in Khao San is housed in a Thai-retro-style building and offers high quality standards at an affordable price. There’s a common area where you can watch movies or use the computers, and it is here where everyone gathers for nightly drinking games and shenanigans!  There are always people up for a party at NapPark Hostel and the friendly staff are great for organising get togethers. Although it’s located near enough to Khao San to enable you to spend the night drinking to your heart’s content, you’re far enough away to be able to avoid the noise that interrupts a good night’s sleep.

8. Bodega Hostel, Khlong Toeo

Bodega is one of our top recommendations if you want a real party in Bangkok. If you don’t believe us check their rating on Hostelworld (9.2/10 – not too shabby eh!!). Bodega is located close to many of the city’s party hotspots. It’s a 5 minute walk from Soi Cowboy (one of Bangkok’s seedier streets but worth a visit just to see it even if you’re not seedy yourself) and a 15 minute walk to Soi 11 (soi means street for info) which is home to a bunch of cool rooftop bars. Of course there’s plenty of other areas you can check out given that taxis are so cheap in the city anyway – and even cheaper if you have a gang together. Not only that, but the hostel is clean, the beds are comfortable and there’s an awesome bar to meet people. Prices start at EUR11!

7. The Alley Hostel and Bistro, Khao San

This is a great option if you’re staying on Khao San Road and want to meet other travelers. It’s not hard to mingle with others if you’re sharing a bed with 29 of them. The Alley Hostel offers both 20 and 30 bed mixed dorms. Friendly staff, good breakfast (that will help the hangover!!), clean bathrooms and modern décor. The common area is really cool and chilled and a good place to start the evening.

We adore the décor of Suneta Hostel Khaosan. Its wooden interiors give it a super stylish touch. The beds come with a curtain if you want to switch off from the world and nurse your hangover. Nitan is another great hostel with top ratings which is located only two minutes away from Khao San – and in spite of that because it’s in a little alley you’re able to escape the noise and be able to get to sleep once you get back from an awesome night meeting other backpackers. The hostel has modern décor and a really chill vibe making it easy to find great people to party with. The staff are kind and polite and will definitely make you feel at home and point you in the direction of their favourite bars.
